Client Overview

The Bauer Hotel Group in the Czech Republic includes several restaurants and cafés offering European desserts, cakes, and drinks. The management wanted to refresh the visual design of their dessert showcases and create a more elegant presentation that would attract both hotel guests and walk-in visitors.

Challenges & Goals

The marketing team faced the challenge of how to present desserts that are usually kept refrigerated in an attractive and realistic way.

Previously, the restaurants displayed real cakes and pastries that had to be thrown away at the end of each day. Desserts containing ice cream or whipped cream could not be shown at all — except in photos, which failed to reflect their real portion size and texture.

The main goal was to find a durable, visually appealing, and hygienic solution that would keep the dessert showcase for cafe display looking fresh throughout the day and highlight the full variety of sweets using realistic dessert food replicas.

Our Solution

The dessert food replicas were made using the original serving dishes from the Bauer Hotel Group. The company also provided its own dry ingredients — chocolate, popcorn, nut crumbs, and branded chocolate plaques with the company logo — to ensure that the replicas matched the real desserts served in Bauer Café restaurants.

Each replica was handcrafted and hand-painted based on photos of actual desserts. Silicone of different densities was used to precisely reproduce the texture of every ingredient: airy whipped cream, the glossy surface of crème brûlée, transparent mint jelly, soft ice cream, as well as various fruits, nuts, and sweet sauces.

The result was a collection of realistic dessert food replicas for restaurant display, perfectly reflecting the elegance and style of the original desserts while giving the showcases a vibrant and appetizing look.

Results & Impact

By replacing real desserts with dessert food replicas, the hotel not only reduced daily product waste but also made the showcases more attractive and organized. Guests can now clearly see the variety and portion sizes of the sweets, and many who initially did not plan to order dessert often change their minds. As a result, dessert sales increased, the average check grew, and food waste decreased. The restaurants now offer guests a convenient and visually appealing selection — an ideal combination of marketing and operational efficiency achieved through realistic dessert food replicas in the dessert showcase for cafe display.
